As part of the Erasmus+ SKILL2SUSTAIN project, the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, successfully organised three training visits between 22 June and 10 July 2026, bringing together 16 teaching staff members and researchers from partner higher education institutions across the Western Balkans.
The training visits were implemented within Task 4.1 – Transfer knowledge, experience and skills in digital and green education on WBC teaching staff, aiming to strengthen digital and green competencies, promote student-centred, real-problem-based and blended learning approaches, and foster regional academic cooperation through knowledge exchange and networking.
Participants from the University of Montenegro, University of Tirana, Polytechnic University of Tirana, University of Banja Luka, and University College “CEPS – Center for Business Studies” Kiseljak attended expert-led lectures and practical sessions covering a broad range of topics, including post-disaster needs assessment and financial resilience, project and risk management, digital communication for sustainable projects, numerical modelling in fire safety engineering, modern geospatial data acquisition and GeoAI, climate change and water resources management, and the environmental sustainability of urban construction. The training was delivered by Prof. Dr. Mirjana Laban, Prof. Dr. Ljiljana Popović, Dr. Jovana Topalić, Prof. Dr. Igor Džolev, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marko Marković, and Prof. Dr. Slobodan Kolaković, andProf. Dr. Anka Starčev-Ćurčin.
In addition to the lectures, participants collaborated on the development of scientific papers and book chapters, visited research laboratories, exchanged experiences and good practices, and established new professional connections that will support future academic and research collaboration.
The successful completion of the training visits contributes to the achievement of Milestone MS2 – Raised Capacities for Digital and Green Education Goals, by strengthening the capacities of Western Balkan teaching staff in digital and green education and promoting innovative teaching methodologies through access to teaching materials, practical knowledge, and regional networking.
