SKILL2SUSTAIN Project Team Active Again: Meeting and Study Visit in Ohrid
From September 24 to 26, 2025, the SKILL2SUSTAIN project team had a project meeting and a study visit held in Ohrid, North Macedonia.
This three-day activity was hosted by the project partner, University SS. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje, and featured participation in one of the most prominent regional scientific events — the MASE21 International Conference.
As part of the official agenda, the project team:
- Attended and contributed to the project coordination meeting
- Took part in a study visit connected to sustainable construction and green engineering
During the first two days, discussions focused on project deliverables, quality assurance, study visits plans, visibility actions, stakeholder engagement. Administrative, dissemination and financial coordination was also addressed, with partners agreeing on clear follow-up actions and timelines. The meeting reinforced the consortium’s commitment to collaboration, impact, and building capacities for sustainability in higher education.
During the study visit, team members had the opportunity to attend expert-led sessions such as:
- Life Cycle Thinking in selecting building materials
- Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as the gold standard of environmental impact evaluation in the building sector
- Seismic risk and its influence on the resilience of communities
- The importance of hazard assessment in urban development and disaster risk reduction
Our Project Team Member – Prof.Dr. Tomo Cerovšek held keynote lecture at the Conference called: THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING WITH BUILDING INFORMATION MODELLING (BIM) AND AI
These activities reinforce the project’s core mission — to build skills for sustainability and resilience through education, innovation, and international cooperation.
