Within the framework of the SKILL2SUSTAIN Project, an inspiring activity was organized at the REC, at the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Polytechnic University of Tirana. PhD candidate Alket Kumaraku presented the first phase of his doctoral research titled “Integrated Storm Water Drainage Systems in Urban Areas.”

His research focuses on the challenges of urbanization, climate change, and flood risk, exploring sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS) as innovative solutions to improve stormwater management and enhance the quality of both above-ground and underground urban environments.

The activity reflects the mission of SKILL2SUSTAIN to promote skills development, sustainability, and academic–research collaboration for addressing current environmental and societal challenges.
