On 12 December 2025, the Administrative Board of the University College “CEPS – Center for Business Studies” Kiseljak officially approved the establishment of the Research and Education Center (REC) within the Knowledge Hub for Climate and Sustainability (KHCS). The Center was established as part of the Erasmus+ project Skill2Sustain – Boosting Digital and Green Skills for a Resilient and Sustainable Western Balkan Society, funded by the European Union.
Following the procurement and installation of modern educational and research equipment, the Center became fully operational in June 2026.

The procured equipment includes desktop computers, laptops, virtual reality (VR) headsets, an interactive smart board, a Wi-Fi router, a mini projector with Bluetooth connectivity and tripod stand, a projection screen with stand, a wireless presenter, as well as professional literature in both printed and digital formats. This equipment supports the delivery of modern training courses, workshops, research activities, and innovative educational content for students, academic staff, and representatives of industry and the public sector. In addition, it provides essential infrastructural support for the operation of the REC and for teaching and practical activities within the newly introduced Disaster Risk Management study direction, enabling the use of advanced digital tools, simulations, and innovative learning methods.

The mission of the REC is to strengthen education, research, and innovation by promoting green and digital skills while fostering collaboration among academia, industry, public institutions, and civil society. Through educational programmes, lifelong learning initiatives, research and innovation projects, conferences, networking activities, and advisory services, the Center contributes to sustainable development and the modernization of higher education.

Guided by the principles of sustainability, digitalization, innovation, and international cooperation, the REC aims to become a recognized regional hub of excellence for the green and digital transition. By supporting students, academia, professionals, businesses, and institutions, the Center seeks to address contemporary environmental, social, and economic challenges while creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, capacity building, and regional development.
