Training visit at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Civil Engineering

A successful training visit organised by the University of Zagreb Faculty of Civil Engineering was held, with participation from partners from the University of Banja Luka, Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy. Representatives of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Gordana Broćeta and PhD student Marina Latinović Krndija from the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, undertook a training visit to the University of Zagreb Faculty of Civil Engineering from 4 to 8 May 2026. During their visit, they participated in activities focused on sustainability, as well as green and digital technologies in construction.

On the first day, guided by Prof. I. Gabrijel and Prof. I. Duvnjak, they visited the Laboratory of Materials and the Structural Testing Laboratory, where they became familiar with laboratory equipment and testing procedures.

The second and third days were dedicated to an intensive course on sustainability, life cycle assessment, and the new European regulation on construction products. The course was delivered by Prof. I. Banjad Pečur, Prof. I. Carević, Prof. M. Serdar, Prof. N. Štirmer, and guest lecturers Prof. R. Andersen Svedin from the Technical University of Denmark and K. Perkov from the Institute for Spatial Planning of Šibenik-Knin County. They also attended a lecture as part of the course Special Concretes and Technologies.

The fourth day focused on advanced testing methods under the guidance of Prof. M. Serdar, M. Flegar Pregernik, PhD and Dr. V. Gilja, PhD. They also visited the Gradify Job Fair organised by the Faculty.

The training visit concluded with an exchange of experiences, sharing of acquired knowledge, and discussions on future cooperation.
