SKILL2SUSTAIN Workshop for Stakeholders Held in Podgorica within the Conference “Implementation of ICT and BIM Standards for Sustainable Growth of Montenegro”

The SKILL2SUSTAIN Workshop for Stakeholders took place in Podgorica on May 14, 2026, within the conference “Implementation of ICT and BIM Standards for Sustainable Growth of Montenegro”, organized by the Institute for Standardization of Montenegro (ISME). The workshop was jointly organized by the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Montenegro (UOM) in cooperation with project partners Chamber of Engineers of Montenegro (CEM)and NGO “Građevinarstvo – nauka i praksa” (GNP).

Bringing together key stakeholders from public institutions, academia, and the private sector, alongside experts in construction, digitalization, and standardization, the workshop aimed to foster dialogue on driving the digital transformation of the construction industry through international ICT and BIM frameworks, while strengthening cooperation between academia and external stakeholders within the SKILL2SUSTAIN project.

Attendees gained insights into the core objectives of the SKILL2SUSTAIN project, which include launching innovative lifelong learning programmes, integrating BIM and GIS tools into higher education, setting up dedicated BIM/GIS laboratories, and deploying e-learning platforms. The initiative also emphasizes hybrid learning models, advanced staff training, and the active integration of industry professionals into the academic curriculum, as well as the development of Research and Education Center (REC) for Digital and Green Transition and the 1FUTURE digital platform for Academia–Stakeholder Collaboration.

The workshop was organized within Task T3.4 – Workshops for Stakeholders, aiming to present the project results, promote cooperation between higher education institutions and relevant stakeholders, and support the development of digital and green skills for a resilient and sustainable Western Balkan society.
